Dennis Haysbert believes his role on Fox's 24 as the nation's first black president has helped Barack Obama. Um...ok.
I will admit, TV does affect our perception of race. Think about how The Cosby Show changed the face of black folks on TV in the 80's. I can actually say Bill Cosby and company helped change public perception of blacks in America. I mean come on, 'Huxtable' is still a household name. But 24? In a word...no.
Maybe I'm being unfair. There could be somebody out there who saw the character David Balmer and is now an Obama supporter because of it.
Do you think his role somehow acclimated America to the idea of a black president?
